Remember how Covid-19 messed up our lives and everyone pleaded for a vaccine? Anyway, Pfizer and BioNTech saved the day by making one of the first vaccines that could be used all over the world. That’s what we all thought at that time, right? Well, for sure, it was a huge victory over the virus. But that time has passed and now there are a lot of questions about whether or not the vaccine is safe and useful. And for that very reason, some States in the USA are suing Pfizer for the Covid-19 vaccine. Yes, we are talking about that famous Pfizer Covid Vaccine Lawsuit that is in the headlines nowadays. Well, if you haven’t caught up with what really is happening in the USA, and what’s this matter all about, then keep on reading.
A Little Bit About Pfizer’s Vaccine
Because Pfizer works with BioNTech, their Covid-19 vaccine got into the market super quickly. It was everywhere by early 2021. At first, it seemed like the hero we needed, safe and very good at fighting off Covid-19, you know? But then, the FDA added a warning about a very small chance of heart inflammation conditions like myocarditis and pericarditis by June 2021. These conditions are more common in young men and boys.
Kansas Takes Pfizer to Court And Starts This Pfizer Covid Vaccine Lawsuit
What is Kansas State doing now? Kris Kobach, who is the attorney general of Kansas, has sued Pfizer in the District Court of Thomas County. What’s the main issue? Well, the case says Pfizer lied about how safe their vaccine was. It is said that Pfizer worked hard to make the vaccine look safe while keeping major side effects like pregnancy problems and heart problems secret from literally everyone. The claim also says that Pfizer was a little too sure that the vaccine would work against new types of COVID-19 and stop the virus from spreading. Kansas says that Pfizer had a different database of adverse events that was more detailed than the federal VAERS. And we must say that this all sounds a bit too sketchy.
What Pfizer Says About the Claims
As you could have imagined already, Pfizer is not giving up. They say that all the things they’ve said about the vaccine are based on facts. They say the Kansas case has no basis in fact and stress that the vaccine has a good safety record having been given to over 1.5 billion people since December 2020.
Other States Join the Fray and RFK Jr.’s Role
Though, it’s not just Kansas. Besides Louisiana, Utah, Texas, and Utah, other states are also ready to go after Pfizer. They agree with the claims that Pfizer hid important information about the risks of the vaccine, especially for women who are pregnant or who have heart problems. And do you know who is rooting for them? Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the independent candidate for president, has been very vocal on social media criticizing Pfizer for supposedly misleading the public. Let’s see what really unfolds regarding this lawsuit, and be ready for some shocking discoveries along the way.
